Evolver Version 3.0
There is a new version of the Evover software.
All serials above 1858 already have 3.0; versions 1 and 2 can
be updated. In this case, one of the two processors must be
physically replaced. The update kit is available for $25 from
our on-line sales page here.
Before purchasing the kit, you should download the zip
file that list the changes and replacement instructions.
The IC replacement is easy to do, but if you prefer, you can
always send in your Evolver and we'll update it for you for
the same $25 fee. Please email us before returning your Evolver.
There are now a number of MIDI CCs to which
the Evolver will respond. Most of the other changes are for
complete compatibility with the Poly Keyboard. If you are not
interested in the CCs, and don't have a Poly Keyboard, you likely
do not need to update to 3.0.
Note that registered Poly Keyboard owners
do not have to pay for the upgrade.
Evolver Version 2.0
Version 2 is already installed on all Evolvers
starting with serial number 01095. It can be loaded into any
Evolver with two MIDI sysex dumps. To update your Evolver, simply
download the files in .syx format (here)
or in .mid format (here).
The zip includes:
1) A .pdf file that describes the update procedure
and lists all the new features.
2) The two MIDI SysEx files to update Evolver's
two processors
3) Since one of the new features is the addition
of Bank 4 - another 128 programs! - a SysEx dump of bank 4 is
included so you have something to load. Programs 1 - 79 are
sequencer-based, and 80 - 128 are keyboard-based.
Here's
a .pdf file of the updated manual.
New features include:
- The addition
of Bank 4, for a total of 512 Programs.
- New modulation
destinations, including individual Left and Right Filter Cutoff
and Resonance, Envelope Decay and Release, and Distortion.
- Synchronous
Program changing while the Sequencer is running.
- New Sequence
