I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I absolutely adore my amazing Prophet '08 Special Edition. It is the best sounding and fattest analog synth I have ever heard in my life, and I have an entire studio filled with many of the greatest analog and digital synths ever made. This is the product I have been waiting for. I'm really glad I decided to take a chance and spring for the Special Edition... it sounds killer, looks great and has that intangible soul that zeroes and ones can't really capture; truly an instrument to grow old with. I love the look of the pitch and mod wheels, and the boutique wood end panels are super classy. I will be using this on every TV appearance and major gig I have coming up in the future.

I recently started taking my Prophet '08 SE out on gigs, and I just wanted to tell you that the response from everyone both onstage and off, has been nothing short of amazing. Everybody's losing their mind at how great it sounds... there's just a certain quality to the sound that the VA stuff doesn't quite achieve.

I already have a rack version reserved, and plan to pick it up ASAP.

Thanks guys, I work in the PC world and suffered a stressful week with my email server reaping havoc. My only thrill in life that kept me sane was coming home to my Prophet 8. It truly makes me happy!

First off it sounds like my old vintage Prophet in a lot of ways with all the new things modern musicians demand.

Second it has the coolest design—not being too large and taking up space in a tight home studio or to big to carry to gigs.

Third it has wood panels—they make a statement when you look at the device.

The layout is easy to understand and the modern smaller knobs and probably modern circuits holding more in less space allows it to not be so deep; 12" must be a record for an analog synth.

Very smart planning with the placement of the mod and pitch wheel saves 5 to 6" wasted real estate on the width of the item, once again perfect fit for a home studio.

The Dave Smith name on the unit puts Dave on the map for those of us who always wondered who made the Prophets and all the other Sequential Circuits products.

Last but not least ñ the incredible sounds this little monster is capable of producing. The presets are cool and the sounds that can be created are endless.
